PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEES

SJVE has 7 professional committees, each comprising professionals and experts in their respective fields, whose function is to discuss and determine the basic policy and direction of the Society's business activities.

NOMINATION & RECOGNITION COMMITTEE FOR MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS

This committee is engaged in the nomination and review of Management Consultant Certification, which is accredited by the All-Japan Federation of Management Organizations. Applying the Management Consultant criteria, this committee nominates eligible applicants for approval by the All-Japan Federation of Management Organizations, and certification to practice as a "Management Consultant (MC)".

VE CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE

This committee manages two VE certification programs, VE Leader (VEL) and VE Specialist (VES). Its tasks include establishment and revision of certification requirements, and the conduct, review, and management of examinations. The Committee is also responsible for managing and operating the Certified Value Specialist (CVS) certification program, which since 1979 has been endorsed by SAVE International (Society of American Value Engineers) as a Joint International Certification Program.

SJVE AWARD SCREENING COMMITTEE

The Award Screening Committee is responsible for the establishment of SJVE honors and awards programs to recognize both organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of this Society, and to the promotion of Value Engineering in Japanese industrial circles. According to the nomination criteria, the Committee reviews candidates for each award and nominates those who qualify by sending a recommendation to the Board of Directors for its final approval.

CONFERENCE PAPER SCREENING COMMITTEE

This committee solicits presentations (technical papers and case reports), reviews the proposals and determines the most outstanding papers for presentation at the annual SJVE Conference, which takes place in the fall.

JOURNAL EDITORIAL COMMITTEE

SJVE publishes a members-only bi-monthly journal, "Value Engineering". This committee works as a planning and editorial group to disseminate the hottest and most interesting topics on Value Engineering and related techniques. It is also responsible for collating prepublication papers and articles to be included in the journal, reviewing the articles, and overall management of the publication process.

INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE

SJVE exchanges a wide range of information and knowledge on VE with other Value Engineering Societies around the world. The International Committee is responsible for communicating with overseas Value-related organizations, as well as individual Value practitioners in America, Europe, Oceania, Middle East, Asia, etc. It also plans and organizes occasional international VE seminars, featuring invited overseas instructors and/or lecturers.

CONFERENCE STEERING COMMITTEE

This committee is responsible for organizing the annual SJVE Conference, held in the fall.
